What To Expect On Your Initial Visit
On the initial appointment, patients bring completed a Health History Questionnaire and Consent For Treatment form, downloaded Here (See "BOOK NOW" section). Through a TCM intake interview, health concerns are noted. Questions regarding the patients lifestyle, diet, emotions, sleep, appetite, digestion, stress... are asked, along with the practitioner’s observation of the patient’s appearance, tongue appearance and pulse to establish any TCM pattern(s) of imbalance. An appropriate course of treatment is then determined.
Is Acupuncture Treatment Painful?
Several acupuncture needles can be inserted into the hollow tube of a hypodermic needle. Because of the slenderness of the needle, most people compare the sensations to “a mosquito bite”. A therapeutically desirable phenomena referred to as de qi (the arrival of qi) occurs when the energy is contacted. This sensation is felt as mild to moderate heaviness or tingling.
